Here’s part two of the Fire Dragon vs Ice Dragon box set! If you missed part one, please check out my previous post 🙂 I talked about everything but the eye products!

But in case you don’t care about the other stuff, here’s the packaging again! Recap: super cute lol. I will say I doubt I will keep the box for long just because it’s so large, but it is really pretty.

There were actually four palettes with the collection but only two came in this box set. And sad to say (I would never tell my husband, who bought this for me), I would have rather had the other two 🙊 There was a green and grey palette and those are my favorite colors lol. But overall… I was very disappointed with the actual palettes. They swatched horrible and applied only a little better.

I’m not sure if I got spoiled by using a lot of Urban Decay and Jeffree Star products or if they are just not great. Some were patchy and some had very little pigmentation. The best colors in both were the transition shades!

Yeah 😐

However, the loose pigments, while the swatches aren’t great, do look nice applied with a finger or wet brush!

Here’s a look I did with the red palette and while I’m not the greatest, I did try lol

Just not very vibrant. I know they can have good shadows though! For comparison, I also got the Fire palette they put out with the Zodiac collection and I literally love it.

Here’s with this palette, though I did use the Blood Sugar palette with it for the mattes

What do you think? I love Wet n Wild… I was taken aback by the box set palettes!

Hi, everyone! My wonderful husband bought me the Wet n Wild box set Fire Dragon vs Ice Dragon for Christmas and I’m finally getting around to playing with it! I am going to split this into two parts since there’s a lot of products and I took lots of pictures haha.

They definitely get points for packaging. I have used WnW since forever and they have definitely upped their packaging game in the last few years.

So I’m going to discuss the bronzers, highlighters, and lipsticks! The bronzers and highlighters have such beautiful designs on them! I love it. I think WnW was going for the Game of Thrones crowd, but I am enjoying it all without watching the show 😁

Both highlighters are beautiful. I have used both and love them! No complaints.

Then we have the bronzers. One is definitely too dark for my skin tone but both are very buttery and smooth!

I have used WnW bronzer before and I always enjoy theirs. It always blends out nicely for me!

Last, we have the liquid lipsticks!

This last one is with the flash and no ring light. I honestly love all of them. They got on smoothly, they dry down matte, and they don’t transfer!! It’s weird to say they dry matte because they have a metallic look, so maybe that’s the wrong term, but they dry down completely. I probably won’t wear these all of the time, especially the blue lol, but they all looked nice on. I actually really liked the cool toned taupe one!

Part II will be the eye products! 🙂

Did you guys grab anything from this collection?

Since I missed my beginning of the week post, I decided to do another quick post before the weekend hits. I have a feeling my blogging schedule is not going to be super consistent with the holidays coming… But I will still be around 😁

So I used to love painting my nails, but I would get so frustrated with how quickly it would chip and look ugly that I stopped painting them except for important events.

Which means I’ve been using the same nail polish I’ve had for like…ten years or more 😬 I don’t throw it out until I have to haha.

Recently I randomly grabbed the Wet n Wild Gel Nail Polish to try because I loved the color (it was Pretty Peas, a beautiful light mint color that I’ve been obsessed with…I realized I own 100 items in that color after I bought it lol). And magic! Where have I been on new nail polish formula?? That stuff didn’t chip for like 4 days! It used to chip on me in 1 hour!

So naturally I went crazy haha. I decided I would throw out all of my long expired nail polishes and update my collection. Wet n Wild actually offers some grouped sets for a cheaper price on their website, so check it out! Otherwise, they are only $4.99…very affordable!

So far I’ve used the Pretty Peas one and the Taupe’s a Joke…both of which I love. I forgot to keep a picture of the mint one, but here’s Taupe…

I feel it’s more of a grey purple than taupe… Like taupe is grey brown, right? But don’t get me wrong, I am super into this color!

What are you favorite nail polish brands? I really want to try KL next! (Kathleen Light’s brand) I almost bought her Zodiac collection but then didn’t… It was kind of expensive at the time 😦

So I bought a few random items from Ulta and Hush over the last few weeks.

I got two Wet n Wild items from Hush from their last line…I think it was called Birds of Paradise? I haven’t tried the green eyeliner yet but there seems to be a lot of pigment! And I love the Hummingbird Hype blush! It’s almost more of a highlighter or blush topper but I think it’s gorgeous.

And then I got the radiance palette from Makeup Revolution London. The swatches barely show up but it’s not really for highlighting…it’s supposed to be more of an overall glowy effect.

Anyways, so I reached 100 followers a month or so ago, and I was so happy. I know that’s not very many and I did have some people following me from before this became a makeup focused blog, but it meant a lot to hit that milestone 🙂 I was thinking about trying to do a small giveaway but thought I would throw the idea out there first to see how many would be interested. I have some items set back from subscription boxes that I knew I wouldn’t use so I never opened them and I have bought a few items with this in mind. It would be very small to start out with, and I am not doing any crazy rules…just people would have to be subscribed and comment on the post or something.

Idk, if anyone who reads is interested, like or comment so I have an idea! I thought it would be fun. I’ve always wanted to win a giveaway but my luck is awful 😂 It would be a random drawing from the people participating, also, btw!

My skin just keeps me guessing. I feel like I talk more about my skin issues than anything lol. I have always hated my acne prone, super oily skin until I was pregnant…then it became beautiful and oilfree and glowing and I loved it. Then it became super dry and I was scrambling for new products. Now it has some how started to become oily again 🤷 I’m guessing the weather has something to do with it. The winter seemed very dry and just this last week we were tossed into a suddenly hot, quite humid spring.

So my pores have been looking big again and there’s a definite sheen that is not highlighter on my cheeks 🙄

But I have discovered a new combo that has been making my skin look as close to flawless as I can hope to get: Urban Decay’s Optical Illusion pore filler/face primer with Wet n Wild’s Matte About You mattifying face powder. I kind of did it the first time without any thought…I was rushing and thought my pores looked terrible so I dabbed on the primer, then thought I looked glossy still so I used the powder.

So the primer is expensive but I don’t use a lot. I put about a half a pump or less onto a finger, then tap it across my cheeks where my pores are largest. After doing that, I gently rub the left over across the rest of my cheek and blend it out. I sometimes dab a tiny bit of the excess on the tip of my nose and the center of my chin. Then I take a blush brush and swirl it in the powder, tap it off, and swirl it across my whole face. The powder was only $4.99, so I’m generous with it.

It’s funny because if I swipe my finger into the powder, it looks like nothing comes off and it’s dried up. But it definitely comes off on the brush. And it seems to keep my face nicely matte looking for a few hours and then I just dab a little more powder on if needed.

I can’t wait to see if my skin keeps getting oiler until I’m back where I started 🙄 I’m hoping it stays as is, comfortably in the middle of oily and dry. Is that too much to ask??

I’m feeling rather bleh tonight for a myriad of reasons, so sorry this isn’t super inspired or involved. I’m not a huge blush person as my skin is pretty textured and I think blush makes it look worse; however, I have a few anyways because I think they are pretty.

My two current favorites are Wet n Wild in Mellow Wine and Benefit in Galifornia. I have had the WnW one for a while now…at least a year. It has been my go to since I bought it. It was only $4.99 and it’s a pretty…well, mellow wine shade! The name is pretty dead on haha. I purchased a trial size Galifornia at least a month ago now and I find that I’m reaching for it when I want to wear something on my cheeks. It’s a light, warm/golden pink color.

I see WnW is coming out with a new line for spring–i think it’s called Flight of Fancy? At any rate, I saw a blush in the set that I want to grab, so I’m excited for that to debut.

Favorite colors of blush?

And I will apologize once again for the pictures…I might have to get a new phone 🙄

So I tried out two products today. Both were new for me, but the Wet n Wild (WnW) foundation has been out for a little while now. I’m pretty sure the palette is new though.

I tried WnW’s Mega Cushion foundation as it’s supposed to be good for dry skin. I also tried Maybelline’s Urban Lights CityKit palette. I realized I have no soft pinks in my makeup collection, and I’m wearing a dress to an upcoming wedding that has light pink flowers on it. So I saw this palette and thought–perfect!

The palette was I believe $11.99 at CVS. The foundation was $8.99.

Foundation: loved it. I had trouble applying it at first but I got used to the sponge that came with it and then used my usual foundation brush afterward to even everything out. It made my skin look dewy and moisturized. I actually prefer a matte look, but with my dry skin, I have to go dewy right now. I would not recommend if you have oily skin. It would probably look too shiny. It wore like my other foundations. It wa a medium coverage, and it held up well enough without a primer. There was a light scent at first but it didn’t stick around. I am very sensitive with scents. And it didn’t feel tacky or gross, which is a plus! Overall, I will keep using it.

The palette: there is nothing I hate more than buying a palette I know I won’t use. The colors are very light, and there were sparkles undery eyes and on my cheeks after I was done applying. I used my usual UD primer and even still they just didn’t hold up. They were wearing off by about 5 hours and at the end of the day were basically gone (which would be about a 10 hour day). This was mostly my fault as I don’t like lighter, subtle colors. I was hoping it would wow me when I put it on, but I wasn’t very impressed. The colors are pretty, though, if you prefer pastels. I might use it off and on for a highlight or something subtle to throw on. Or I might pass it on.

This is when I first applied both.

Anyone else try these? Love them or hate them?
