I’m doing a little review and an update all together because both are short 🙂 And we know I love to ramble!

First up, spoiler on my first purchase this month– It Cosmetics Confidence in an Eye Cream. I followed my rules (from my previous blog on my low/no buy)– I wanted a new eye cream, this was on my favs list on the Ulta app, and it was 50% off for $20 during their skin care deals 😁 I wanted to try this so badly but at $40 when I wasn’t sure if I would like it … Man, is skin care expensive!! But $20? I was willing to try it!

First, I’m sorry for the pictures. I remembered at 10:00 PM I forgot to take any and here we are lol.

Packaging– It’s cute, it’s very sturdy, it’s compact, and it’s functional! I couldn’t ask for more.

There is only .5 fluid oz. Again, can we discuss how expensive skin care is? Geez. They recommend you put this on morning and night. I have been doing both for at least two weeks now. I’m not slathering it on because I want it to last lol, but I’m using enough I think. I pat it under my eyes, into my corners, and up into the lids. It feels cooling when it goes on.

I like it so far! It is anti aging, and while I am -gasp- 31, I don’t have enough “aging” issues to say much there. But I was concerned about tugging and dryness due to constant makeup wear. It’s definitely very moisturizing. My under eye area feels very soft and isn’t dry and flat looking anymore. I never had a dark circle issue, but it is supposed to brighten, and I feel like that area looks bright 🙂

Once it’s empty, I will decide if I will repurchase or try something new! If you wanted to try it, though, I am recommending it so far!

An update on my low buy: I made it through December, and I made it until literally yesterday 😂 Up until then, I literally purchased this eyecream and eyeshadow primer that was also on sale! However, Jeffree Star Cosmetics did mystery boxes and I really wanted one, so I went ahead and bought the $40 box. To my delight, my husband also bought me one 😂 To be fair, it’s supposed to be $75 in savings I think, so it’s technically like a sale! But then Colourpop and Kathleen Lights dropped a loose pigment box set to go with their Zodiac collection, and since I literally squealed when I saw swatches, it wasn’t a surprise I was checking out at literally 1:00 PM when it dropped 🤷🤦 I’m going to keep myself in check going forward, I swear! My only other purchases were gifts for friends 😁

Did everyone know that lip primer was a thing except me? 🤔 I’m not sure how I missed the memo… I’m obsessed with how much I hate how lipsticks look on my lips that I can’t believe I didn’t stumble upon this before.

Before I forget though, I stumbled upon this in another beauty blogger’s blog! I don’t know how to link on here because I must be old haha, but her name is Aleeya Azimulla! She did a blog on prepping your lips. Definitely check out her blog 😁

Back to my awful lips. I use some form of moisturizer every single (since like I was born lol). They get so dry and chapped, even in the summer. I have an awful habit of biting them and pulling the skin off as a nervous habit 😬 probably doesn’t help things.

On top of that, I have a lot of lines. I hate how matte lipsticks exaggerate the lines but I prefer mattes because I hate transfer!

So I popped over to Ulta and they had it, so I bought it. I believe it was $20. I was buying other stuff, so I got the free shipping, and it was at my door in like 4 business days.

I have used it twice so far and like it! It has a very faint scent that I can’t quite place. It reminds me of this eucalyptus chest rub I have for my baby. I can’t smell it once it’s on though.

It goes on clear. It is almost like a Vaseline substance but not as thick. Then I popped my lipstick on. One day I used a matte liquid, the other just a bullet lipstick. Both bright red 😁 The primer definitely helped fill in my lines so the matte looked much nicer than normal. I am not good at applying red lipstick lol, so the edges weren’t great, but I think that’s my lack of skill. I have very full lips and it looks like I over draw them when I’m not…and it’s a whole thing.

It definitely helped wear too! I have to scrub my lips to get that matte off. The lipstick (bullet) wore very evenly.

Over all, I’m happy and will keep using it. Do you guys use a lip primer?

So I woke up Sunday feeling terrible, and it kind of went downhill until this morning (Wednesday). So I skipped posting anything on here or Instagram for the first half of the week, and I honestly still don’t feel well enough or look healthy enough for makeup lol

However, with all of that nose blowing and honestly just rubbing my face in general, skin care is more important than ever. When I get sick now, I get the worst congestion ever. I get so stuffy that my eyes feel like they are going to pop out and it usually backs up into my ears. So I inevitably start pressing on my face where my sinuses are to try and alleviate the pain. I don’t know why, because it never works lol.

But I recently added a new product to my daily skin care, and I’ve been meaning to do a post on it. It’s the Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash.

I. Love. This. I bought a small bottle at Ulta to give it a try and I will definitely be buying a large bottle when I run out.

First, it smells like orange peels. It’s not overwhelming…it’s just a very nice scent that I find relaxing. The texture is like a clear goo with little beads in it. You only need a little bit and you just rub it all over like a normal face wash and rinse. I can definitely feel it exfoliating but it’s gentle enough for every day use and doesn’t irritate my skin at all.

Even better, my skin has been noticeably nicer since I started using it. It’s just felt smoother, my makeup has been going on better, and my pores haven’t been as awful. Between my now favorite three, my skin has really been pretty nice (up until I got sick and started touching it constantly lol)

I still use the regular face wash from Philosophy especially before I try a mask so I have a clean face but it’s something super gentle. I did use it the past few days too because I find this scent extremely relaxing.

And of course the Clinique 72 hour surge moisturizer is still my favorite. I use it everyday!

What are your favorite skincare products? Philosophy and Clinique are expensive but I have decided I’m willing to pay it for how nice they make my skin!

I was wanting to try some new masks and I stumbled upon a little package that ELF Cosmetics was offering for $18. It is just a little clear bag, but it comes with 5 different masks that they offer in trial size/travel size.

I definitely destroyed the bag while opening it lol so it is not pictured.

So far I have tried the glitter peel mask and the marshmellow mask. I really liked the glitter peel mask! It’s the first peel I’ve used, and man did it hurt 😓 But it made my skin feel and look so good! My face just felt so smooth.

The marshmellow one didn’t seem to do as much, but I didn’t dislike it. I will definitely try it again.

Pros to buying this: if you are like me and want to branch out and try a bunch of new masks, this is a great and affordable little bundle. They are a great size to travel with or to throw in an overnight bag. There’s definitely enough product for several tries in each.

And I really didn’t find any cons so far 🙂 I really do like ELF products. It’s a very affordable brand and has a wide variety of products from skin care to makeup.

Has anyone else tried any of these? What is your favorite kind of mask?

So I was graced with a 20% off of everything Ulta coupon a few weeks ago and knew it was too good to pass up lol. Normally Ulta coupons are only for a single item or just for the “drugstore” makeup, so it’s nice to get these types of coupons! I decided to not go crazy on makeup because I’ve been buying so much lately and picked up some skin care products too. I am not a rich person by any means haha so I try to shop smart. Ulta usually has free gift with your purchase promotions and I was happy to stumble upon a pretty nice one.

So I was going to buy the Clinique 72 Hour Surge moisturizer anyways. It’s my favorite and I’m almost out. A half an ounce is $12. Ug. But I did see if I spent $30 in Clinique products I got 3 Clinique samples that looked promising. So I bought a whole ounce of the moisturizer and a face cleanser to try. I’m not 100% sure if I really read the package haha…it’s for very dry to combo skin, and my skin has decided to be oily again. But I will give it a go. I normally have combo skin so hopefully it’s ok.

Then I got the three samples. The one is my favorite moisturizer I just mentioned, so I’m happy about that. The second is a face cleanser, so that’s cool. Both are decent sizes. The third is a mini/sample Sonic face brush! That I was most excited about. I want to see if it makes any difference on my pores. It’s supposed to last a month if I use it twice a day for 30 seconds each time, which again…is a decent free sample in my opinion

I also decided to try an Anastasia BH eyebrown pencil and I bought a Morphe eyebrush set that came in this bag

Overall, I’m excited. I got free shipping, 20% off everything, and 3 samples. Anyone use one if those face brushes? I will update if I think it made a difference!
