The first of my Black Friday purchases has rolled in! Woohoo ๐Ÿ™‚ After I promised my husband no eyeshadow palettes until after Christmas… I definitely bought two ๐Ÿ™ˆ I couldn’t help it! This one from Too Faced I have wanted for months, and when I finally decided I was going to buy it, I realized it wasn’t at Ulta. I look at Sephora but I don’t buy from them often. But then I saw Too Faced was offering some good deals for Black Friday.

I purchased two items and got a bag with sample sized products, two regular mini samples, and shipping all free! Who could resist? (Not me)

Packaging: A+ on everything. Even if you hate the brand, you have to admit they have adorable packaging. I don’t want to throw out any boxes! And everything was nestled nicely in a sturdy box filled with paper crinkly- packaging things.

Purchase One: The Just Peachy Mattes palette. I love this so far. No regrets on this. The palette itself is very nice. It’s extremely durable, and has a little clasp that holds it closed (and they look like peaches). And it’s metal I think… definitely not the cardboard that a lot of brands use. There is a mirror on top. I put the box there so you didn’t see my reflection lol. Everything swatches wonderfully and nothing has been patchy.

Purchase Two: the Dew You foundation from their Tutti Frutti line. I only used it once but I like it so far. It’s a dewy finish and it looks boarderline cakey but it’s not terrible. My skin gets horribly dry in the winter! The color was a tad off but I think it’s the closest match they had. My biggest complaint is the scent. I’m sure most people find it refreshing but it’s almost too much for me. I’m pretty sensitive to scents though. When I was outside or at the store I didn’t notice it, but shut up in my office or the car I did.

The freebies: the makeup bag is plastic and really big! I was surprised. I don’t normally use plastic makeup bags but it would be great for a trip. I already know I love their Better Than Sex mascara. I also got a lip oil from the peach line…it’s ok. I don’t like it enough I would specifically purchase it. I also got a sample of their Chocolate Soleil bronzer. It smells so good!! I like it so far. I don’t use bronzer a lot but I would keep using it.

Finally, the minis:

I haven’t tried the glitter glue yet. I had to mix the first two shades of the foundation together to get even a close match. It’s just not for me unfortunately. And only because it’s a matte finish. I love matte but it looks horrible on my skin.

Here are two eye looks I did so far. Forgive my eyeliner in the one and my skin in the other haha. The first one I actually used all Too Faced products on my face except the eye liner.

What are your favorite Too Faced products? ๐Ÿ™‚

So the first of my Black Friday purchases have rolled in. I actually bought these two a couple of days before Black Friday because Colourpop was offering free shipping for any price point, so I grabbed these.

Spoiler alert: I did some online shopping this weekend because I couldn’t resist, so I will be getting a mini wave of new products in lol.

So I already own two Jelly Much shadows, and I love these. I own a dark green and a purple-red shifting color, so now I’m adding a bright green and a peach to the mix.

First, the cards they sent with purchases kill me. I keep every one because I love that someone thought to do this.

If you aren’t aware, these are a jelly like substance. You have to keep the inner lid so you can seal it up, so they don’t dry out.

I find them very easy to apply, use, and remove. I swirl my fingertip around a little and then swipe it across eyelids. It seems to do best if you only do one or two layers. Then I keep my lid shut for approximately 20 seconds while it dries. Then voila! I take a fluffy crease brush and buff it out or use a powder shadow in the crease to blend. A little makeup remover takes it off very easily.

The peach is Morning Light. The green is Into Focus. Both are from the new Holiday collection.

If you let them dry before blinking, I have not had any transfer issues. If you wipe your finger on it, though, it will come off a little.

As before, I’m very impressed with these! I’m glad I grabbed them. I love greens so much and I feel like I finally have a good range of different greens. And the peach is a beautiful but subtle look for days I’m not being too extra ๐Ÿ˜‚

Do you guys love the jelly much shadows?

So I throw stuff away without ever thinking I could get one more use out of it in an empties post lol. So I could have done many before this one. But I finally remembered to hold onto some stuff to give a final review.

And I thought it was good to go through and toss empties, toss expired/dried out, and pass on the uninteresting (to me) right before I probably buy more ๐Ÿ™‚

The face products:

This was my second bottle of miscellar cleansing water from Philosophy, and I’m making my way through my third bottle. So yes, I will repurchase ๐Ÿ™‚ The big bottle is $22. I know you can buy cheaper brands of this stuff, but I’m in love with Philosophy anymore. This stuff works well.

The moisturizer is something I got in an ipsy bag literally forever ago. I used it a lot, then kind of forgot about it, then rediscovered it and finished it. The brand is Tucker Ashley which I’ve never seen anywhere. Honestly I would buy this if I found it anywhere. It worked very well.

The Foundations:

The Nyx BB Cream was I believe $12. So my only complaint about it was it had a bit of a floral scent, but it would fade after a bit. However, I have repurchased it, and I don’t know if they reformulated or what, but I don’t smell anything now! So I recommend this completely now. It is good for me in the winter when my skin is so dry that any foundation looks cakey on me. It’s enough to smooth out my skin tone.

The Wet n Wild Cushion was I believe $9. I liked this, and it provided a little more coverage than the BB cream but definitely didn’t come off dry or cakey. However, it seemed to dry up pretty quickly. Like I can use foundation for anywhere between 6 months-a year…I used this for a couple of months and it was done. So for that reason, I probably won’t repurchase.

The mascaras:

I got the Wander Beauty Unlashed in a BoxyCharm and *loved* it. I recently found out they sell this at Sephora (or at least online). It is $25. I will definitely pick it up again, even if not immediately. It provided volume without being clumpy.

Finally, I had bought the mini Too Faced Better Than Sex because there was so much talk about it but I’m so picky with mascaras, I was scared to sink over $20 into it. I loved this too. I’m hoping to grab another one this weekend actually, and I will get the full size hopefully. The mini is $12 and lasted a long time. It made my lashes look so full and long and was not clumpy for me. Too Faced is becoming a new favorite brand of mine!

I’m glad to finally toss everything. It’s nice to declutter ๐Ÿ™‚ Do you have and love any of these? Or hate?? Let me know! โค๏ธ

So with Christmas coming up and more importantly, Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales ๐Ÿ˜, I decided to clean out and reorganize my makeup. I threw out some stuff that was pretty old and/or dried up, and I made a little pile of makeup I decided to pass on to a friend (or friends if she doesn’t want it all lol). I at least tried everything except the one item.

Let’s start with the palettes. I bought the Makeup Revolution x Soph palette not that long ago and was pretty excited at first. Honestly, I never picked it back up or even thought about it after the post I made with swatches. The shimmers were underwhelming to say the least. Then there’s the Absolute palette I found at Marshall’s. It actually swatched really well…but for some reason I never was inspired to even try it on my eyes. Finally, there’s the Makeup Revolution Strobe highlighting palette. I actually did like this, but after picking up a few Ofra highlights, I just don’t reach for it anymore.

Then there’s a set of Profusion eyeliners that just didn’t impress me much. The Clinique face wash didn’t do much for me, and I’m having huge success with Philosophy.

The Lace a Peel masks are the only thing I didn’t try because they kind of scared me lol! I received them from BoxyCharm. I have pretty sensitive skin and I was afraid they would irritate my skin.

The CoverFX drops…I feel bad to give away because they retail for a lot! But I got them in BoxyCharm also, and I have literally no idea what to do with them. The ELF mist I’ve used before, but I actually got this as a free gift from my last order through them, and I rarely use setting spray.

There’s a few other items from subscription boxes in there, but those are the main ones. Do you have and love any of these items? That’s one of the best parts of makeup… everyone has different skin and looks and preferences, so what works for me might not for you and vice versa ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m not bashing on anything here!

Since I missed my beginning of the week post, I decided to do another quick post before the weekend hits. I have a feeling my blogging schedule is not going to be super consistent with the holidays coming… But I will still be around ๐Ÿ˜

So I used to love painting my nails, but I would get so frustrated with how quickly it would chip and look ugly that I stopped painting them except for important events.

Which means I’ve been using the same nail polish I’ve had for like…ten years or more ๐Ÿ˜ฌ I don’t throw it out until I have to haha.

Recently I randomly grabbed the Wet n Wild Gel Nail Polish to try because I loved the color (it was Pretty Peas, a beautiful light mint color that I’ve been obsessed with…I realized I own 100 items in that color after I bought it lol). And magic! Where have I been on new nail polish formula?? That stuff didn’t chip for like 4 days! It used to chip on me in 1 hour!

So naturally I went crazy haha. I decided I would throw out all of my long expired nail polishes and update my collection. Wet n Wild actually offers some grouped sets for a cheaper price on their website, so check it out! Otherwise, they are only $4.99…very affordable!

So far I’ve used the Pretty Peas one and the Taupe’s a Joke…both of which I love. I forgot to keep a picture of the mint one, but here’s Taupe…

I feel it’s more of a grey purple than taupe… Like taupe is grey brown, right? But don’t get me wrong, I am super into this color!

What are you favorite nail polish brands? I really want to try KL next! (Kathleen Light’s brand) I almost bought her Zodiac collection but then didn’t… It was kind of expensive at the time ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

So I got my BoxyCharm yesterday but my work schedule has been all over the place …I didn’t even really look at it until today ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I even missed my beginning of the week post! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ So here’s a quick look at what I got.

I received variation 3. I get the monthly subscription (rather than preordering a set amount) so it’s $21/month for me. This month’s theme was Goal Digger. I mean…I’m not crazy about the name but I don’t really care either lol. I don’t care for the term “gold digger” but maybe that’s just me being a crazy feminist or something ๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿค”

There is a set of Luxie brushes! Retail $21. I’m excited because I love brushes, always need brushes, and I actually don’t have many small, detail brushes.

Then there’s Lashaholic lashes. Retail $14.99. I have never used lashes and am scared of gluing my eyes shut haha! They look pretty though.

Jonteblu Glittering Star Eyeliner. Retail $5.00. it’s pretty and I hope it goes on well, because I am not afraid to use glitter eyeliner, especially around Christmas ๐Ÿ˜‚

Then there’s the expensive item–CoverFX glitter drops in shade Nova. Retail $44. Please someone help. What do I do with these?? I feel like they are meant for someone with a healthy complexion as compared to being ghostly white.

Finally, my favorite item of all boxes… The palette. My first item to try from Ace Beaute, the Grandoise palette. Retail $24.99. I love the colors and am excited to give it a go ๐Ÿ™‚

Some swatches:

What did everyone else get? What’s your favorite item? ๐Ÿ™‚

Did everyone know that lip primer was a thing except me? ๐Ÿค” I’m not sure how I missed the memo… I’m obsessed with how much I hate how lipsticks look on my lips that I can’t believe I didn’t stumble upon this before.

Before I forget though, I stumbled upon this in another beauty blogger’s blog! I don’t know how to link on here because I must be old haha, but her name is Aleeya Azimulla! She did a blog on prepping your lips. Definitely check out her blog ๐Ÿ˜

Back to my awful lips. I use some form of moisturizer every single (since like I was born lol). They get so dry and chapped, even in the summer. I have an awful habit of biting them and pulling the skin off as a nervous habit ๐Ÿ˜ฌ probably doesn’t help things.

On top of that, I have a lot of lines. I hate how matte lipsticks exaggerate the lines but I prefer mattes because I hate transfer!

So I popped over to Ulta and they had it, so I bought it. I believe it was $20. I was buying other stuff, so I got the free shipping, and it was at my door in like 4 business days.

I have used it twice so far and like it! It has a very faint scent that I can’t quite place. It reminds me of this eucalyptus chest rub I have for my baby. I can’t smell it once it’s on though.

It goes on clear. It is almost like a Vaseline substance but not as thick. Then I popped my lipstick on. One day I used a matte liquid, the other just a bullet lipstick. Both bright red ๐Ÿ˜ The primer definitely helped fill in my lines so the matte looked much nicer than normal. I am not good at applying red lipstick lol, so the edges weren’t great, but I think that’s my lack of skill. I have very full lips and it looks like I over draw them when I’m not…and it’s a whole thing.

It definitely helped wear too! I have to scrub my lips to get that matte off. The lipstick (bullet) wore very evenly.

Over all, I’m happy and will keep using it. Do you guys use a lip primer?
