So I woke up Sunday feeling terrible, and it kind of went downhill until this morning (Wednesday). So I skipped posting anything on here or Instagram for the first half of the week, and I honestly still don’t feel well enough or look healthy enough for makeup lol

However, with all of that nose blowing and honestly just rubbing my face in general, skin care is more important than ever. When I get sick now, I get the worst congestion ever. I get so stuffy that my eyes feel like they are going to pop out and it usually backs up into my ears. So I inevitably start pressing on my face where my sinuses are to try and alleviate the pain. I don’t know why, because it never works lol.

But I recently added a new product to my daily skin care, and I’ve been meaning to do a post on it. It’s the Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash.

I. Love. This. I bought a small bottle at Ulta to give it a try and I will definitely be buying a large bottle when I run out.

First, it smells like orange peels. It’s not overwhelming…it’s just a very nice scent that I find relaxing. The texture is like a clear goo with little beads in it. You only need a little bit and you just rub it all over like a normal face wash and rinse. I can definitely feel it exfoliating but it’s gentle enough for every day use and doesn’t irritate my skin at all.

Even better, my skin has been noticeably nicer since I started using it. It’s just felt smoother, my makeup has been going on better, and my pores haven’t been as awful. Between my now favorite three, my skin has really been pretty nice (up until I got sick and started touching it constantly lol)

I still use the regular face wash from Philosophy especially before I try a mask so I have a clean face but it’s something super gentle. I did use it the past few days too because I find this scent extremely relaxing.

And of course the Clinique 72 hour surge moisturizer is still my favorite. I use it everyday!

What are your favorite skincare products? Philosophy and Clinique are expensive but I have decided I’m willing to pay it for how nice they make my skin!

So I was faced with a big decision haha…I had a very rare 20% off my whole order (prestige brands included!) for Ulta as well as had built up $20 off in points. I also promised my husband I would not buy eyeshadow until after Christmas after that purchase. So I knew it had to be something good. So I settled on something I have been eyeing for probably close to a year:

Ofra Pro Palette Free Spirit. This is online only at Ulta for $59. I swear it had a higher price point before but maybe I’m confusing it with their all highlighter palette that is a whopping $130 I believe. I rarely see any reviews for Ofra and when I do, it’s their highlighter. Which is great. I already own Glazed Donut. I also have a liquid lipstick I got in a BoxyCharm that I love. But I couldn’t take it anymore 😂 It was too pretty! So I bought it along with a new brush set and a lip set from Ulta for stocking stuffers.

First, I *love* the packaging. It’s sleek and thin. It’s magnetic. It’s sturdy. It does have a small mirror. And every pan easily pops out (they are held in with magnets and have a little dip you can get a finger in). So if you hit pan…you can buy an individual of something and pop it right in. Reusable palette!

There are neutral eyeshadow, pops of color eyeshadow, two highlighters (and one has several shades), a bronzer, two blushes, and a banana powder. It’s a whole face in one palette.

Everything swatched great. They are on the softer side, and I definitely stuck my finger in too hard in the banana powder and got it everywhere lol.

My only complaint so far is there is some kick up in the pans. Not so much fallout, but I had to keep blowing on the palette after using something so it didn’t get into a neighboring pan. I only actually applied stuff to my face once so far, but so far I am enjoying everything but the banana powder. It’s not for me.

I used three eyeshadows, mixed the two blushes, the bronzer, and two highlighters. Everything was easy to work with.

Anyone else own an Ofra palette? I can’t wait to try the blue shades next!

I was wanting to try some new masks and I stumbled upon a little package that ELF Cosmetics was offering for $18. It is just a little clear bag, but it comes with 5 different masks that they offer in trial size/travel size.

I definitely destroyed the bag while opening it lol so it is not pictured.

So far I have tried the glitter peel mask and the marshmellow mask. I really liked the glitter peel mask! It’s the first peel I’ve used, and man did it hurt 😓 But it made my skin feel and look so good! My face just felt so smooth.

The marshmellow one didn’t seem to do as much, but I didn’t dislike it. I will definitely try it again.

Pros to buying this: if you are like me and want to branch out and try a bunch of new masks, this is a great and affordable little bundle. They are a great size to travel with or to throw in an overnight bag. There’s definitely enough product for several tries in each.

And I really didn’t find any cons so far 🙂 I really do like ELF products. It’s a very affordable brand and has a wide variety of products from skin care to makeup.

Has anyone else tried any of these? What is your favorite kind of mask?

So I really don’t have a lot of Too Faced products! If I’m buying high end, I always went for Urban Decay. However, after I got that Life is a Festival palette, I really wanted to try more of their stuff. I was really impressed by it. So after wandering into Ulta one day, I left with a $42 face palette 🙂

First, I love the packaging. The outside box is very pretty, and the inside is a tin that is also very pretty. I love the colors and I like how sturdy it feels. There is a mirror inside also.

Also, it does have a light, very pleasant peach-like scent to it! As someone who has a lot of issues with strong scents (like I get a full blown headache and nausea), this in no way bothered me and I really liked it. I actually specifically didn’t look at Too Faced products for awhile because most of them are scented, but after smelling it in the store, I didn’t think it would be a problem.

It’s so light it honestly isn’t noticeable once it’s on.

There is a highlighter, a blush, and a bronzer.

So none of them are wow, in your face. They are more subtle and just give an overall glowy, healthy look. The bronzer disappointed me a little because it literally doesn’t show up on my face. And I am very pale lol. I don’t know if it’s the formula or if it really is just very light.

Would I buy it again? Not for $42. I will keep using it for sure, and it would be convenient to travel with. But maybe if I found it half off would I get it again.

Do you have this item? What’s your favorite product from the Sweet Peach line?

I did actually cancel my Ipsy subscription and to be honest…with how much makeup I’m purchasing on my own, I may end up cancelling BoxyCharm. The only reason I’m holding out is because it is the best way I know to try new brands without being out a lot of money.

If you don’t know, BoxyCharm is a monthly subscription. It’s $21/month if you pay monthly (which I do so I didn’t have to pay up front). You can 5-6 full sized products in each box worth over $100.

Each month has a theme, and this month was Alter Ego. I honestly was never very sure how the themes are picked because nothing in here screams Alter Ego to me lol. But at any rate, here’s the contents:

I tried pretty hard to keep it all a secret, but I some how always get ads for it on my Facebook or personal Instagram so I basically knew what I was getting. It’s still kind of exciting opening a box of makeup though 😁

Each box has a palette. This month was Pur Cosmetics Midnight Mascarade. And…I can’t show swatches because I already passed it on to a family member. It looks beautiful, but I just bought three palettes in the last month and need a palette break. It has eyeshadows on one side and blushes on the other, but some of the blushes look like they could be used for eyeshadow if you’re very fair like me!

The we have the It Cosmetics Superhero mascara. I am excited to try this. I have tried their brushes but no makeup yet. And my Wander beauty mascara from a BoxyCharm is about done, so I’m glad to have something new!

There’s also a Kat Von D liquid lipstick in every box, but the shade varies. Pro for me: mine is Lolita, and even though the idea behind the shade name grosses me out, I have heard people rave about this color. Con: I had just decided to not buy anymore KVD makeup lol. I will try this though since I have it. I like that her stuff is cruelty free…I just personally do not like the person behind the brand 🤷

Finally, there were two skincare products that I’m excited to try. I’ve been trying to check out new skincare products. The first is a Dermovia Lace a Peel black bamboo charcoal peel off mask. There are two masks inside and I’m pretty sure this is like $30! I will have to do an update if I like it or not.

Last but not least, we have Farmacy Green Clean makeup cleanser. I am always down to try a new makeup remover/face cleanser. I just popped off the lid before hitting post, and this smells really good! It strangely reminds me of like orange sherbet haha. It’s like a mint green color though…just the scent reminds me.

What did everyone else get in their box? Were you happy with this month? Overall I was fine with it 🙂 Not the best but not the worst!

So in my last post, I said I recently bought the Bad Habit eyeshadow primer to test out. It was $6 on the Hush app, and I saw via Instagram that they have their own site up and running from which you can purchase their products.

I really like Bad Habit from all that I’ve used. They are a knock off brand, which I wasn’t too sure how I felt about that at first. However, they were offering affordable dupes for products that were appealing to me. I’ve used some eyeshadow palettes, some liquid lipsticks, and now their primer. They also have highlighters and now brushes.

So my absolute favorite eyeshadow primer and honestly the only one I use anymore is the Urban Decay original potion. It retails at I believe $22. They have colored ones that are $24. Even though it lasts me a long time…that’s a lot. Especially if I can find one I like for $6.

After using it twice, I like it so far. It would be nice to even have a cheap one for days I’m just posting on Instagram or going out for an hour or two versus all day. I did use it all day once and it admirably held up.

These pictures are right after applying:

These pictures are 8 hours later:

It applies clear on the lid. There is a slight chemical smell but nothing overwhelming. There is a wand but I honestly never use them. I just wipe it onto my finger and then apply to my lids.

So I’m definitely going to keep using this! If I change my mind, I will definitely do an update post!

What are your thoughts on knock off makeup brands? I think it does raise the question of how much are we paying just for the brand name on the box rather than actual product…

So I bought several things on the Hush app like two weeks ago at this point and I just completely forgot to post this lol. I actually thought I had then and had to double check. Better late than never, right?

So let’s start off with the masks. I have semi-recently become very interested in really good skin care, mostly because I never had nice skin. And I feel like a lot of the reasons why I didn’t have nice skin was because I had zero knowledge in how to have nice skin. After I got pregnant, I literally had perfect, glowing skin. After pregnancy, I started researching how to try and go back to having beautiful skin. I bought two from one brand because they were $1/each. I have only tried the Sweet Honey one so far because it was leaking and needed to be used. I liked it but I honestly didn’t notice much of a difference. I believe it was $4.

Then I bought a tub mask. I have higher hopes for this than the sheets because I will get several uses and will be able to see if over time there’s a difference. I have heard good things about Tree Hut. I used it once and it was easy to use and remove. It smelled ok. Nothing that bothered me. I can’t remember the price but this was the most expensive single item I got…I want to say $15.

Then I bought some lip care products. The Nugg scrub I’m not super thrilled with yet. I believe I have used it four times. I have the worse lips so it might just be me. It doesn’t seem to do enough. But I don’t hate it. I believe it was around $5. The Milani lip moisturizer is great so far on the other hand. I love the scent. It’s very buttery without being greasy. I used to just use Vaseline on my lips but since just using this (every night since I got it), I feel like my lips have improved a little, which is a lot for me lol. I believe this was $8. It’s small but a little goes a long way.

Finally, I had to try the Bad Habit eyeshadow primer. I love their eyeshadows and lipsticks, so for $6, I couldn’t resist. I finally used it for the first time today. So far I am impressed. I will do another post on it after a few uses. Packaging is great. There was a very light chemical scent to it, but as someone super sensitive to scents, it didn’t bother me. It’s about the same size as other primers I’ve used.

I was happy I stayed away from actual makeup because I needed some new skincare stuff.

Check out my Instagram for posts every to every other day 🙂 Hope everyone had a great weekend!
